Data Center Installation Services Technician

The Data Center Installation Services Technician role is a mid to high-level part-time position. This is a project-based position that typically takes place after hours and on weekends and can be available as supplemental income to existing employment.
Job involves the physical installation of computer equipment including rack-mounted servers, switches, routers, and other gear with compatible cable types, per the provided rack and cable layouts. No software configuration included.

Critical

MUST have experience with installation of rack-mounted servers and other data center equipment, as well as ability to interpret rack layouts. This includes tearing down and reconstruction of rack kits and de-cabling and re-cabling of equipment with copper and/or fiber cables.

  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work in high pressure/fast paced environment under strict timelines
  • Punctual and reliable/ Flexible to working extended hours
  • Physical ability to lift between 50 to 90 lbs. for racking of servers
  • Basic knowledge of general hand and power tools and the physical ability to use them
  • Basic computer and mathematic skills/ strong written & oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail & problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently (self-motivator) and as a team
  • Strong customer service & interpersonal skills
Desired Experience
  • Technical knowledge of servers and computing hardware, including older server architectures including: GBIC, Serial, SCSI
  • Technical knowledge of the servers internal components, including proprietary equipment communication cards and the associated protocols (e.g., IEEE, RS-422, Ethernet, Serial)
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training is preferred but not required
Network Engineer
Job Responsibilitie

Design, plan, install, configure, & support various systems & server

  • Ensure network security to support business
  • Manage network infrastructure (onsite & offsite)
  • Provides on site or remote access diagnoses and resolution of computer hardware and software problems using a highly integrated set of diagnostic tools and techniques utilizing a specialized set of diagnostic tools and elevated privileges.
